Swiss Bureau Interior Design & Build recently had the pleasure of hosting a material board workshop for interior design students in their final year at the Heriot-Watt University’s Dubai campus, offering a valuable hands-on learning experience for the next generation of designers.

Led by our Senior Interior Designer, Lamyaa Maher, the workshop was an incredible opportunity for students to dive deep into the world of material selection and design presentation. With a rich collection of materials, participants were guided through the process of creating their own material mood boards, which are essential tools for any interior designer.

Lamyaa walked the students through the art of curating material boards to convey design concepts and bringing their creative visions to life. The workshop provided insights into the importance of materials in interior design – from textures and finishes to color palettes.

The session was a huge success, with students engaging actively and learning new skills to enhance their design portfolios.
