Sharjah Broadcasting Authority Offices

Speaking to the pulse of the Emirate, Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA) is an innovative broadcasting and media company overseeing communication channels such as Sharjah Radio, Sharjah TV, Sharjah Sports Channel, and more for over 30 years. Dedicated to enriching the lives of their audience, they aim to bring people together through film, culture, entertainment, and unique content. Commissioned to refurbish their 23,000 Sqft offices, Swiss Bureau sought to transform their office space into one reflective of these positive values, creating an engaging and inspiring atmosphere. 

For its new look, they wanted to merge notions of a modern workplace with touches of classic interior design elements to balance out a corporate environment. Working closely on the design and build with their team, SBID created a symbiosis between traditional design components, pairing arches, leather furnishing with capitone, and decorative chandeliers with industrial touches visualized as a metal mesh ceiling and track lighting. This union of form and material connects a design narrative that explores community and new perspectives on entertainment within the workplace. 

Like a camera lens focusing on set, its interiors zoom in on playing with light and form to create moments of engagement and windows of curiosity. Using the logo as the main inspiration, we implemented elegant architectural forms following the same curves derived from radio waves. Art deco elements and sophisticated details pair with a branded color palette in both material and ergonomic furnishing, forming a cohesive design illuminated by natural light. 

By incorporating more collaborative points, ergonomic furniture, live greenery for air filtration, and an abundance of biophilic elements, the design-driven office mirrors SBA’s passion for its work, inspiring both its media guests and employees while bringing life and happiness into the space.
